New Sarris Candies Factory Store
If you’ve followed Play Pittsburgh for a while, you probably already know that we’re big fans of Sarris Candies. We’ve been making trips to their original Canonsburg location for years, and it’s one of those places that never gets old.
Their original store is much more than a candy shop. It’s a family destination with an old-fashioned ice cream parlor, shelves filled with handcrafted chocolates and nostalgic treats, unique gifts, and some of the most festive holiday displays around. Whether we’re stopping in for a scoop of ice cream on a summer afternoon or picking up chocolates during the holidays, it always feels like a special outing. Now there’s another reason to visit.
Sarris Candies has officially opened its brand-new Factory Store in Canonsburg, giving visitors a chance to shop for their favorite chocolates and, for the very first time, take a guided tour inside the factory where they’re made.
Whether you’re looking for a fun family outing, a unique date idea, or you’re simply a chocolate lover, this sweet new experience is worth adding to your Pittsburgh bucket list.
A New Way to Experience Sarris Candies
For generations, Sarris Candies has been a Pittsburgh tradition. Birthday gifts, Easter baskets, fundraisers, Christmas stockings… chances are you’ve had Sarris chocolates at some point growing up.
Now visitors can experience even more.
The new Factory Store is located at 135 Meadow Lane in Canonsburg, just about a mile from the original candy store and famous ice cream parlor. Inside you’ll find all of the handcrafted chocolates, chocolate-covered pretzels, seasonal favorites, gift boxes, and candy-themed gifts that Sarris is known for.
Take a Behind-the-Scenes Chocolate Factory Tour
The biggest addition is something Sarris has never offered before: guided factory tours.
Guests can spend about 45 minutes walking through the facility while overlooking the production floor from an elevated mezzanine. Along the way, you’ll learn about the history of Sarris Candies, see how many of their signature chocolates are made, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the chocolate-making process.
And yes… there are chocolate samples along the way.

Is It Worth Visiting With Kids?
Absolutely.
Older kids who enjoy seeing how things are made will probably get the most out of the factory tour, but younger children will still love browsing the store and picking out a favorite treat.
If you’re making the drive from Pittsburgh, I’d recommend turning it into a half-day adventure by pairing the Factory Store with the original Sarris Candy Store and Ice Cream Parlor just down the road.
There’s something nostalgic about walking through Sarris. Even as adults, it’s hard not to feel like a kid again surrounded by rows of chocolates, colorful candy, and shelves full of sweet treats.

- Tours require advance reservations.
- The original Sarris Candy Store and Ice Cream Parlor remains open and isn’t going anywhere, so you can still enjoy both locations during your visit.
