Real Mom Review North Strabane Township Park Playground
Located in Canonsburg (approximately 20 miles southwest of Pittsburgh), North Strabane Township Park is a spacious community park with plenty of amenities. The park underwent a huge renovation in 2013 and now includes several playgrounds, walking trails and pavilions. It’s home to many North Strabane community events such as movies in the park, annual touch-a-truck and car cruises.
Some of the park features include bathrooms available on site, basketball courts, plenty of parking, walking trails, disc golf course and plenty of green space. While the playgrounds are not fenced it, they are located far away from any road traffic.
Toddler / Preschool Playground
Towards the entrance to the park you’ll find a couple of small playground areas. There’s plenty of nearby parking and benches/picnic tables. Preschool and school-age children will love to climb and slide on various equipment – monkey bars, ropes, climbing walls and more. Located in the same area is a toddler/preschool playground with adorable train themed playground equipment – including a small slide, tunnel and bench area.

Large Children’s Playground
Follow the road down the hill and you’ll find another, much larger, playground. It’s absolutely breathtaking. In fact, it’s probably one of the largest playgrounds we’ve ever been to in the Pittsburgh area. This playground equipment is best suited for children ages 5-12yrs. Take fun to new heights with three story slides, rock walls and climbing nets. You’ll also find swings and benches nearby.

Pirate Ship Playground
Towards the end of the road you’ll find a third playground area with a pirate ship theme. There are little coves to climb through. With all the hiding places and coves it would be fun for a toddler (with supervision, of course). Kids can lower and raise the flag on the pirate ship.

North Strabane Township Park is certainly worth the drive! If you’re not familiar it can be a little tricky to find.
