Santa Fun Cruise

Ideal for children ages 3-9 years old, the Santa Fun Cruises on the Gateway Clipper are a 2 hour ride up and down Pittsburgh’s river that offers views of the city, opportunities to meet fun holiday character and photo opportunities with Santa.

Guests should arrive approximately 30 minutes before their scheduled cruise and are should park in any of the Station Square Parking Lots for easy access.

The dress is casual- although some children who were getting their pictures taken with Santa were a little more dressed up.

When guests are aboard, they are welcome to explore the ship freely. Although there are plenty of tables, seating is open (no reservations). The vessels are completely enclosed and climate controlled.

We excitedly found a table and sat down to begin writing down our “Wish List” to give to Santa (paper was provided). With decent weather, we were able to hang out on the top deck for a while. The views were absolutely amazing!

When all the guests were aboard, we were ready to take off down the river!

Next, the characters were announced and began to make their rounds around the boat to visit passengers – Elsa, Rudolph, the Grinch, Spider Man, the Abominable Snowman and Frosty. Don’t forget your camera, there are TONS of photo opportunities! The music started and kids and adults headed to the dance floor.

Food and drinks were available for purchase at the snack bar as well as a variety of knick-knacks, toys and balloons.
