Free Entrance Day in the National Parks

On June 14 (Flag Day), all fee-charging National Park Service sites waive entrance fees for U.S. citizens and residents — one of just a handful of free park days in 2026. The closest NPS fee site to Pittsburgh is Fort Necessity National Battlefield in the Laurel Highlands at 1 Washington Pkwy, Farmington, PA. Note: camping, tours, and parking fees may still apply.
