There’s a playful new addition coming to Aspinwall in the form of a 30 foot bronze statue/playground. Aspinwall’s Riverfront Park is currently being renovated and plans to be open to the public in fall, 2014. The million dollar sculpture will hopefully make the 10 acre park a destination point for families and art enthusiasts. There are tons of awesome features kids will love to explore: climbing up the knees, sliding down the legs, peering through the eyes and even spotting small playful mini figures affixed throughout the statue. We’ll certainly be adding this to our list of amazing Pittsburgh Playgrounds when it open to the public. The playground is one of seven identical statues artist Tom Otterness has created, check out some of the pictures or you can read more about the story from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.

Has the sculpture, “Playground” by Tom Otterness been installed at Aspinwall Riverfront Park yet? If not, is it still going to be installed at some later date? Thank you.
