Thank you to the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh for sponsoring this post. All opinions remain 100% my own.
Location, Location, Location
When we decided we wanted to make our ultimate holiday weekend in Pittsburgh extra special, we decided we wanted to stay downtown. With its amazing views of the city and central downtown location, the Wyndham Grand seemed like an obvious hotel choice.
The hotel just completed a remodel and rebrand. It’s within walking distance of the T, Market Square, PPG Plaza, Heinz Field, PNC Park and tons of other downtown venues.

After a long night of exploring Kennywood’s Holiday Light show, we arrived at the hotel. We parked in the nearby garage (they also offer valet parking for around $30). The main lobby is beautiful and includes a seating area, lounge and bar. Check-in was painless and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
We made our way up to our room- a double suite on the 21st floor.

Hellooooo, Pittsburgh
WOW… just WOW!
My attention was immediately drawn to the spacious accommodations and beautiful interior. In addition to the sleeping area with two full size beds, there was also a seating area with a sofa bed and plenty of seating. Each room had a 37-inch flat screen TVs, floor to ceiling windows with amazing views of the city and separate climate controls. There was also a wet bar and small refrigerator.

“AND they even have pens!” my son exclaimed. Ah, the little things. 🙂
The room was very tidy and the beds had soft, clean sheets (not stiff). Most importantly, the beds passed my sons ‘jump’ test. Each bed had four pillows- two soft and two firm.
We left the large window overlooking the rivers open when we put the little guy to bed.
Pittsburgh city lights = Coolest. Nightlight. Ever.

We tucked him in, kissed him goodnight and moved into the other room to watch some television and relax. This room also had a spectacular view of downtown. Although the other room did have a desk, we had moved the small dining table over to the window which proved to be a most inspiring place to write about our recent ventures throughout Pittsburgh. In case you’re wondering, they have free, fast Wi-Fi!

“Can we come back?”
We slept in late and had no problems when we asked housekeeping to come back in a little bit. They were very friendly and pleasant.

After taking the morning slow, there just wasn’t enough time to utilize the fantastic pool or 24 hour fitness center (but we still had to stop in and check it out). And, although we didn’t eat there, there is a restaurant downstairs with a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu.
My son is absolutely insisting that we come back for a stay… and my husband and I totally agree!
