When the new Disney Store opened at Ross Park Mall, my family and I couldn’t wait to check it out.
We’re Disney people. My husband and I were even married on a Disney Cruise (honestly, it was the most stress-free wedding imaginable). So whenever Disney brings a little magic closer to home, we’re excited.
We actually stopped by during opening weekend, but the line was so long that we decided to come back another day. Fast forward a few weeks, and the crowds have settled down considerably. On our recent visit, we walked right in without waiting at all.

Inside, you’ll find plenty of Disney merchandise, including plush characters, toys, apparel, collectibles, and gifts featuring many of your favorite Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars characters. For Disney fans, it’s definitely a fun stop while you’re visiting the mall.
That said, I couldn’t help but compare it to the Disney Stores I remember from years ago.
Maybe it’s nostalgia talking, but the stores from my childhood felt a little more magical. The larger-than-life displays, interactive elements, and themed experiences made it feel like you were stepping into a small piece of Disney. While I’m happy to see the Disney Store return to Pittsburgh, this version felt a little more like a retail store and a little less like an attraction.
Still, for local Disney fans, it’s a welcome addition to Ross Park Mall. We all enjoyed browsing the shelves, and it was fun seeing familiar characters and discovering new merchandise. Sometimes a little bit of Disney magic (however it arrives) is enough to make an ordinary mall trip feel special.
If you’ve been waiting for the opening crowds to die down, now is a great time to visit.
