If you’re looking for a great breakfast or brunch spot in Pittsburgh, Caffe Mona La Bistro in Bloomfield is definitely worth adding to your list. My family and I recently stopped by for a weekend brunch, and it was one of those places that feels welcoming the moment you walk in.

The atmosphere is one of the first things you’ll notice. Inside, the restaurant is full of interesting décor and unique touches that make it feel cozy and inviting. Out back, there’s a beautiful patio covered by a canopy of colorful umbrellas, with vibrant murals covering the surrounding walls. It’s a fun space that’s just as enjoyable as the food.

The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our visit, making us feel right at home.

As for the food.. it was excellent! Whether you’re craving a hearty breakfast or something lighter, there’s a little bit of everything on the menu. They offer breakfast sandwiches, omelets, sweet and savory crepes, pancakes, French toast, and plenty of other brunch favorites. If you’re visiting later in the day, you’ll also find salads, wraps, and sandwiches for lunch.

One highlight was the coffee. Caffe Mona La Bistro serves its own signature coffee blend made from Turkish and Colombian beans, and it was the perfect complement to our meal.

The only downside we experienced was parking, which can be a little challenging in Bloomfield, especially during busy weekend brunch hours. It’s worth allowing yourself a few extra minutes to find a spot.

Caffe Mona La Bistro has two Pittsburgh-area locations (Bloomfield and the Strip District) and both are open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Whether you’re meeting friends for brunch, grabbing breakfast with the family, or looking for a casual lunch, it’s an easy place to recommend.
