Pittsburgh Blues Festival FREE Friday

The Pittsburgh Blues Festival turns TWENTY!

In 2006 community members began bringing non-perishable foods to the festival. Several years later the Food Bank launched a ‘Free Friday’ campaign in which patrons receive free access to the festival with the donation of a bag of non-perishable items. We are able to provide this option due to incredible corporate sponsorship. This year, ‘Free Friday’ is brought to us by our friends at Giant Eagle! To date, we have collected 116,761 lbs of food through the ‘Free Friday’ campaign (dollar value = $211,860). This year we are challenging the community to help us collect 20 tons of food in celebration of our 20th anniversary.

So, this year, instead of bringing groceries out to Hartwood, you can donate $4 now. The Food Bank can purchase $5 dollars for every $1 donated, so $4 actually equals $20 for 20 YEARS OF BLUES!
