Pittsburgh Bicentennial Celebration

Saturday, July 9, 2016 @ 11:00 am - 10:00 pm

Pittsburgh marks its official incorporation as a city! Celebrate everything that makes it an extraordinary place to live, work, visit, and play with a parade, a showcase in Market Square, a concert and fireworks.

Bicentennial Day Parade
Be on hand to commemorate the election of Pittsburgh’s first mayor in 1816, Ebenezer Denny, at this momentous parade. Local school, community and entertainment groups, as well as descendants of all 56 previous mayors, are taking part in the parade winding along Liberty Avenue from 11th Street to Point State Park. Descendants of Pittsburgh mayors are traveling from as far away as Europe to participate. After the parade, continue the celebration with a Bicentennial Showcase in Market Square. Later, beginning at 6 PM, stop by Point State Park for music and more. Fireworks, a Pittsburgh tradition, begin when it gets dark.

The parade begins at 11 a.m. The route follows Liberty Avenue from 11th St. to Point State Park.
