Carnegie Science Center Holiday Camp

Just for kids ages 4–10, Holiday Camps are a great way to get kids to use their brains. Your kids will have so much fun they won’t even realize all of the exciting science they’re learning, even when school is out! Call 412.237.1637 to register.

9 am – 3 pm each day with pre and post camp
Half-day cost $20/$23 Full-day $36/$40
AM Half day (9 am – noon) camps for kids ages 4-5

Pre- and Post- care will be available beginning at 7:30 and ending at 5:30. It is an additional $5 for pre-camp and $10 for post-camp. Pre-camp is available for full and half day camps. Post-camp is only available for full day camps.

Ages 4-5 – All Aboard
Climb aboard for a look at the Miniature Railroad & Village®. Learn about trains and the culture of workin’ on the railroad all the live-long day!

Ages 6-7 – Holiday Fun
Discover the science behind this chilly season as you explore snowflakes, experiment with candy canes, and create your own frozen bubbles. This camp is too cooool to miss!

Ages 8-10 – Science Thrill Ride
Explore the science of amusement parks as you discover the physics, momentum, and chemistry behind what makes them tick.

Ages 4-5 – Wee Bots
What is a robot and what does it do? Is it the same as me and you? Learn as you interact with some robots in action!

Ages 6-7 – Rainbow Zone
From chemistry to chromatography, learn how color and science go hand in hand. Discover the secret behind magic color-changing beads. Experiment with light and colors and have a psychedelic time.

Ages 8-10 – Holiday Fun
Discover the science behind this chilly season as you explore snowflakes, experiment with candy canes, and create your own frozen bubbles. This camp is too cooool to miss!

Dec. 30

Ages 4-5 – Science Make Sense
Use your five senses to explore science. Make some scented play dough and experiment with swirling colors. Touch, smell, hear, taste, and see with some hands-on fun.

Ages 6-7 – Quirky Chemistry
Discover the science of solutions, create chemical concoctions, explore states of matter, and more! You won’t believe the chemistry you can do with everyday materials!

Ages 8-10 – Introduction to Robotics
Can robots help clean your room AND play basketball? Get up close with some binary beings in roboworld™ and learn about how they were designed and built. Using LEGO Education’s newest EV3 software and technology build a robot and then take command. YOU are in control!

Ages 4-5 – Science Detectives
Learn to use the powers of your five senses to explore the world around you, like a scientist, and to solve a mystery, like a detective.

Ages 6-7 – roboworld™ Camp
How does a robot sense, think, and act? Get up close with some binary beings in roboworld™ and learn about how they were designed and built. Discover how robots help people and come up with some robot design ideas of your very own!

Ages 8-10 – Programming with Scratch
Combine this simple programming language and your imagination to create your own interactive stories, animations, or games. While creating Scratch projects, participants learn important mathematical and computational ideas, learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively.
