USC Community & Recreation Center : 1551 Mayview Rd, Upper St Clair, PA 15241
On a hot summer day, is there anything more fun than spending the day at the waterpark?
From toddlers to tweens, Upper Saint Clair Community & Recreation Center [USC Rec Center] has something for parents with all the kids in tow – waterslides, lily pads, zero-depth entry, and more.
$12/person (yes, everyone is $12/person, no discount for the short people) and 2-and-under are free. That price gets you access to the entire facility (indoor/outdoor water park, pool, locker rooms, community area and gym). For those that might be interested, the USC Rec Center also offers a yearly membership.
In my opinion, moderate admission price is reflective of the attractions and amenities – it offers more than the typical community pool but not quite as large as Sandcastle. Like many things we do with our families, sometimes you just have to pay to play (and pick and choose what works for you and your family).
Now let’s talk about the fun stuff…
Outdoor Facility
The outdoor waterpark is gorgeous and well maintained with plenty of attractions to keep everyone entertained. There is plenty of seating/lawn chairs or bring a towel to park on the large grassy areas around the pool.
Big-kid water features include a large waterslide and lily pad obstacle course.
In the kiddie lagoon you’ll find geysers, fountains, water guns, 60,000 gallon dump bucket, mini water slide and zero-depth water entry.
There’s a large sandbox area, too!

Indoor Facility
I loved the indoor play area because it meant we could hide from the sun but still had plenty of fun things to keep my 7-year-old son busy.
One of the coolest parts was the “lazy river”/current channel (no rafts required) with two inlets: one inlet was a whirlpool, one was a seating area.
There was also a large water slide inside, a shallow swimming pool with zero-depth entry, geysers, hot-tub, lap pool and kiddie water structure with mini-water slide and sprinklers.
Know Before You Go
- “Rest periods” are scheduled for the last 10 minutes of every hour – which is a great break built-in break to use the restroom, grab a snack and reapply sunscreen
- Some shaded areas although they fill up very quickly
- The entire place is obviously fenced in and there were plenty of lifeguards on duty
- There’s an on-site shaded picnic area
- Guests are allowed to bring food/drinks/coolers
- Concession stand open on the weekend and always a vending machine open with items available to purchase
- Kids can also enjoy the nearby playground across the parking lot, Casey’s Clubhouse Playground (New Post Coming Soon!)
