SUMMARY:Deutschtown Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:Over 80 Bands! 3 Outdoor Stages and 13 venues! Food trucks and artist’s market. And it’s FREE! \nThe 2nd Annual Deutschtown Music Festival is a free music and arts festival taking place on Saturday\, July 12th on the NorthSide of Pittsburgh – located within the East Ohio Street business district. This non-profit event is hosted by the East Allegheny Community Council and supported by bordering neighborhood groups The Spring Hill Civic League\, Community Alliance of Spring Garden East Deutschtown and the Troy Hill Citizens\, Inc. \nSponsors for this year’s event are WYEP\, Highmark\, The Sprout Fund\, The Buhl Foundation\, Hear Corp and Stage AE. \nFamily-friendly daytime activities include a flea market\, artists’ market\, Citiparks Roving Art Cart\, multiple food vendors and trucks. Numerous musical acts are spread over three outdoor stages\, a singer-songwriter showcase in Bistro To Go and a gospel stage at Damascus Church of God in Christ. James Street Speakeasy will play host to over 15 different jazz performers starting at 1pm and continuing late into the night. \nBeginning at 8pm – 13 different walkable venues (with 15 stages) host over 60 bands\, one per hour. \nA free shuttle bus will transport attendees around the neighborhood – including a stop at the North Shore T station close to PNC Park. \nThe purpose of this event is to promote the vibrant Deutschtown neighborhood while also showcasing the amazing local talent in the Pittsburgh region. All bands and performers donate their time and efforts. It is due to the generosity of each and every performer\, as well as this year’s sponsors\, that make this festival possible and free to the public.
