SUMMARY:Science Center Sleepover
DESCRIPTION:The Carnegie Science Center hosts overnight sleepovers. Bring your family or Scout troop on a science siesta! Discover the science of shuteye as you explore circadian rhythms and hibernation. Investigate ultraviolet light in our glow room. Test your reflexes in our simulated sleep deprivation challenge and make a sleep mask to help you slumber the night away. You might get to snooze next to R2-D2\, dream beside seahorses\, or catch some Z’s near a space station. \nCheck-in begins at 6 pm the evening of your sleepover\, where you will receive a detailed schedule of the night’s happenings. The overnight experience will begin with a brief orientation\, after which participants will enjoy a night of themed activities. Lights-out is at midnight. All sleepover gear must be removed from the building by 9:30 am\, but you are welcome to stay the day after and explore even more with your general admission\, included in your sleepover cost! \nAll Science Center sleepovers include: \n\nThemed activities\nOmnimax movie\nPlanetarium or laser show\nLive theater show\nScience workshop\nSleeping among our exciting exhibits\nOfficial Science Center patch\nLate-night snack\nContinental breakfast\nFree admission for the day following the sleepover\, including Highmark SportsWorks® and USS Requin\nParking

DESCRIPTION:Discover the scintillating science behind fire\, and beat the heat with four floors of hands-on exhibits\, Highmark SportsWorks®\, an Omnimax movie\, and a laser show! One special price gets you into our July 4th Fireworks Blowout from 6-11 pm\, plus one popcorn and soda for you to enjoy during the evening. Additional food items available for purchase. \nCost for lawn viewing is $39 per person. Parking is free with advance registration. Registration will close at noon on July 3\, 2014. Ticket availability is limited. Reserve your spot today! \nLimited same-day tickets may be available on July 4 at the Science Center’s ticket counter. Parking will be $20 per car and is not guaranteed. \nThroughout the event\, visitors will be able to view Born to be Wild in Rangos Omnimax Theater\, see the live show Fire and Ice\, and experience the live Works Theater show Illumination Sensation\, which explores the science of light. During one special performance at 7:30 pm\, an aerialist will dance suspended in the air on silks. Attendees can also watch a patriotic laser show\, Spirit of America\, featuring music by John Fogerty\, Garth Brooks\, and John Mellencamp. \nAll exhibits\, Omnimax movies\, laser shows\, and demonstrations will shut down during the fireworks show\, scheduled to begin around 9:30 pm. Exhibit areas will remain closed for the rest of the evening. One final laser show\, Omnimax movie\, and Fire and Ice show will run after the fireworks. \nCarnegie Science Center will be open at 10 am on July 4th. Feel free to come early and play! The special event starts at 6 pm.
