With lush evergreens\, bright blooms\, illuminated glass and our stunning outdoor Winter Light Garden\, Phipps will sparkle and shine like never before. \nWritten by Pennsylvania native Dick Smith in 1904\, “Winter Wonderland” is perhaps one of the best-known carols of all time. For this year’s Winter Flower Show\, the lyrics of this delightful song will be brought to life as they are represented through artful arrangements of LED lights\, decorated fir trees\, whimsical props\, and\, of course\, plenty of seasonal favorites such as colorful poinsettias\, aromatic paperwhites and showy amaryllis. \nAdding to the festive atmosphere\, indoor displays of glowing glass will make a return this year\, while outside\, in the Outdoor and Discovery Gardens\, the Winter Light Garden will sparkle with luminous orbs\, trees and fountains of light. Garden Railroad will be on view too\, taking you back in time to the Gold Rush as you explore the landscapes of northern California and Mt. Shasta — complete with prospectors\, water features\, interactive buttons for children to push\, and miniature living plants\, shrubs and trees. \nWinter Flower Show\, designed by Terra Design Studios\, LLC\, and Winter Light Garden\, designed by Phipps Exhibit Coordinator Jordyn Melino\, run through Jan. 11\, 2015. Daily hours for Winter Flower Show are 9:30 a.m. – 11 p.m. and 5 – 11 p.m. for Winter Light Garden. Phipps closes at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 and reopens at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 26. Admission is $15 for adults\, $14 for seniors and students\, and $11 for children (ages 2 – 18). SUMMARY:Western Pennsylvania Model Railroad Museum
DESCRIPTION:The Western Pennsylvania Model Railroad Museum is a volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of history of railroading in the Pittsburgh area. This is done in part by creating a 40′ X 100′ HO scale\, prototypical and historically accurate model railroad. A project that has been on going since 1988. \nMeasuring in at 4\,000 square feet\, the display is one of the largest in the nation. It depicts the tracks between Pittsburgh\, PA to Cumberland Maryland set in the summer of 1952\, and portrays numerous landmarks such as the P&LE train station (Market Square in Pittsburgh)\, J&L Steel Mill\, Cox’s Department Store (McKeesport\, PA)\, Falling Water\, Ohiopyle PA\, Helmstetter’s Curve and the Cumberland Station (Cumberland\, MD). \nThe Holiday Train Show runs from November 8th through January 11th. DESCRIPTION:The Western Pennsylvania Model Railroad Museum is a volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of history of railroading in the Pittsburgh area. This is done in part by creating a 40′ X 100′ HO scale\, prototypical and historically accurate model railroad. A project that has been on going since 1988. \nMeasuring in at 4\,000 square feet\, the display is one of the largest in the nation. It depicts the tracks between Pittsburgh\, PA to Cumberland Maryland set in the summer of 1952\, and portrays numerous landmarks such as the P&LE train station (Market Square in Pittsburgh)\, J&L Steel Mill\, Cox’s Department Store (McKeesport\, PA)\, Falling Water\, Ohiopyle PA\, Helmstetter’s Curve and the Cumberland Station (Cumberland\, MD). \nThe Holiday Train Show runs from November 8th through January 11th. DESCRIPTION:Every year Santa makes his first stop in Cranberry Township! Santa will arrive at 7 pm escorted by the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company. Help him light the Holiday Tree and enjoy holiday crafts and refreshments in the Municipal Center. Crafts and refreshments begin at 6:00 PM\, and Santa will pull in promptly at 7 PM. \nYou’ll have the opportunity to meet Santa & Mrs. Claus and feed their reindeer!\nThen\, Santa has to leave and head back to the North Pole but he will be back for Milk and Cookies! \nStroll through the 6th Annual Cranberry Tree Gallery featuring more than 20 trees decorated by area nonprofit organizations; plus\, you won’t want to miss the GIANT LEGO TRAIN DISPLAY!
