DESCRIPTION:Hundreds of thousands of lights will be on display from November 28th through December 21st – Fridays\, Saturdays and Sundays from 5pm-9pm. Kennywood is transformed into Winter Wonderland as timed light shows set to holiday music. Shows begin at 5:30pm\, last about 10 minutes and run every half hour. Santa will be there for meet and greets! Some rides will be open with holiday themed lights including some Kiddieland rides. Tickets are $16.99 at the gate and children 2 and under are free. Holiday Lights Tickets are also available at participating Giant Eagle location for $14.99.

For one doubting boy\, an astonishing event occurs. Late on Christmas Eve\, he lies in bed hoping to hear the sound of reindeer bells from Santa’s sleigh. When\, to his surprise\, a steam engine’s roar and whistle can be heard outside his window. \nThe conductor invites him on board to take an extraordinary journey to the North Pole with many other pajama-clad children. There\, he receives an extraordinary gift only those who still believe in Santa can experience.\nThe film used 3D motion capture techniques to digitally record the physical performances of the actors before “skinning” them with their animated forms. All the children’s roles were acted by adults using oversized props to get the movement right.\nThe locomotive in the movie is based on the Pere Marquette 1225\, a restored steam locomotive located in Owosso\, MI. In fact\, many of the sound effects of the film’s train are recordings of the actual train.
