DESCRIPTION:A star party is an invitation to anyone wishing to enjoy and learn more about the splendors of the sky. At a star party\, AAAP [Amateur Astronomer Association of Pittsburgh] members set up a wide variety of telescopes (basic and advanced models) and offer visitors stunning close-ups of celestial objects. Many visitors bring their own telescopes to take advantage of viewing conditions at the site. Others use the occasion simply to view the stars and planets with their own eyes. \nBefore departing for an AAAP star party\, check the sky conditions. If the sky is overcast or the forecast suggests rain\, consider postponing your visit until the next event. If there are just a few scattered clouds (with the Moon and stars visible in between)\, the star party will be “go.” Observing conditions at the Wagman Observatory can be confirmed on star party nights by calling 724- 224-2510. \nAll AAAP star parties are free to the public.

DESCRIPTION:Butler Downtown will host the first “Butler Bunny Trail” event on Saturday\, March 28 starting at 10:00 a.m. Children ages 2-10 are invited to visit participating businesses along Main Street to collect Easter treats. Registration is $5 per child and proceeds benefit Butler Downtown\, a nonprofit charitable organization. The “Butler Bunny Trail” will begin at Parties and Playdates where children will create a paper mache Easter egg and receive a treat bag before heading down Main Street. Participating businesses will be marked as stops along the Bunny Trail. The trail will end at the Butler Arts Center where children and parents can enjoy refreshments and meet the Easter Bunny. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Start times are available at 10:00 a.m.\, 10:30 a.m.\, 11:00 a.m.\, 11:30 a.m.\, and 12:00 p.m. Reservations are required and spots are limited.
