DESCRIPTION:Now in its second year\, Weather Permitting is a promotional outdoor weekly concert series held at the Shadyside Nursery. Each Sunday\, the nursery transforms into a vibrant event space that features bands\, beer from local breweries\, food trucks and a farmer’s marketplace. They have also have been known to have squirt gun battles and hula-hoop fun for kids of all ages. More than just an event\, this collaboration of local folks was built with the intention of supporting and promoting small businesses. With a permit that allows for expansion\, this year Weather Permitting is growing and able to offer additional space for local farm stands and other vendors to promote and sell their goods on site.

DESCRIPTION:Over 80 Bands! 3 Outdoor Stages and 13 venues! Food trucks and artist’s market. And it’s FREE! \nJuly 12\, 2014 will mark the second annual free Deutschtown Music Festival. Building upon the immense success of last year’s event\, the full-day festival will showcase more than 80 bands in at least eight outdoor and indoor venues\, starting at 11 a.m. and ending late that night. There will be a wide variety of music styles\, including jazz\, blues\, rock\, bluegrass\, German\, and electronic. The daytime portion is designed to be a family-friendly event\, with numerous food trucks\, a flea market\, and other activities to supplement the music. Throughout the day and night\, a free shuttle with several stops in the Northside and Northshore will be available to the 3-5\,000 people that are expected to attend.

DESCRIPTION:Free concert series at Cranberry Community Park. Five dates this summer\, Thursdays beginning at 7pm. \n  \nJuly 17 – Michael Christopher \nBring a lawn chair or blanket Despite growing up in a small rural town\, singer/songwriter/guitarist Michael Christopher didn’t discover country music until his college days\, when he found that its storytelling left a lingering impression. In 2008\, he assembled a group of experienced musicians in the Pittsburgh area to form a band. The band has played festivals\, fairs\, celebrations and private events\, as well as broadcast performances and opening for national acts. \nJuly 24 – Aeolian Winds of Pittsburgh.  Dedicated to composing\, promoting and performing chamber music for wind instruments\, the Aeolian Winds of Pittsburgh was founded in 2003 to bring high-quality wind music to the greater Pittsburgh community.  The quintet performs in concert halls\, local cultural events\, private homes\, and is regularly featured on WQED-FM.  For their Cranberry concert\, the ensemble will offer a program of pops music and summer favorites. \nJuly 31 – Kardaz. – Kardaz is a six-member pop rock band styled after American and British bands of the 1960s and ‘70s.  The group flawlessly replicates the harmonic vocals and visuals of that era for audience throughout western Pennsylvania.  In addition to vocals\, Kardaz incorporates flute\, saxophone\, recorder\, 12-string guitar\, harmonica\, and percussions\, into their performances.   \nAugust 7 – The Stickers.  The Stickers – three Western Pennsylvania brothers with a love of country music – have taken their passion onto the global stage with concerts and airplay in both the U.S. and Europe\, including several top ten songs overseas.  Two-time CMA Festival artists\, The Stickers have appeared with some of the genre’s leading performers and have been named Billboard song writing winners on three occasions.  \nAugust 14 – School of Rock.  For more than 15 years\, School of Rock – a music school started in Philadelphia that currently includes 130 franchisees in seven different countries\, including one in Wexford – has inspired kids to rock on stage and in life.  Its students have played thousands of concerts\, to more than 100\,000 people\, including music festivals Lollapalooza\, Austin City Limits\, and Summerfest.   Its Cranberry concert will focus on cover songs from the 1960s to today.

Several years later the Food Bank launched a ‘Free Friday’ campaign in which patrons receive free access to the festival with the donation of a bag of non-perishable items. DESCRIPTION:This annual festival is held at the main falls area of Ohiopyle State Park and features music\, crafts\, food\, interpretative programming including bow drilling\, leather tanning\, native American wigwam\, wool spinning\, old fashion games and chores\, cider pressing\, log hewing\, various artisan vendors\, interpretative programming\, food and drink sales by FOO and music in the evening. Homestead Day has been integrated with this event too. \nSaturday will feature Van Wagner completing programs on log hewing and Pennsylvania’s logging history from 12:00-6:00pm and the Half Time String Band will be playing bluegrass from 6:00pm-9:00pm. \nSunday will feature old time games\, butter churning\, spinning\, cider pressing and many more fun filled family activities from 12:090pm-6:00pm.
