SUMMARY:American Legion's Annual Parade @ Bethel Park
DESCRIPTION:The American Legion’s Annual Parade and Cemetery Service on Memorial Day strive towards public awareness and remembrance of those who gave their lives for freedom—the supreme sacrifice for their country. Marchers carrying flags representing each service branch will participate and escort 8-10 riflemen who will serve as an honor guard attending to the flags. \nPrior to the parade\, the Veterans Memorial Committee will be sponsoring coffee and doughnuts at 7:20 a.m. in Bethel Park’s Municipal Council Chambers followed by a 7:30 a.m. ceremony at the Veteran’s Memorial located in front of the Municipal Building. Additional names will be added to the over 3\,500 already in place on the Veteran’s Memorial representing those from the American Revolution to today. \nFollowing the ceremony\, the Memorial Day Parade will begin at the Municipal Building and end at the Bethel Cemetery\, adjacent to Bethel Presbyterian Church on Bethel Church Road. A Memorial Day service will be held immediately after the parade. The public is encouraged to attend and participate in honoring our veterans. \nAnyone wishing to be in the parade can contact George Tracey at 412-600-6725. In case of rain\, the Memorial Service will be moved to Bethel Park Community Center.

SUMMARY:American Legion's Annual Parade @ Bethel Park
DESCRIPTION:The American Legion’s Annual Parade and Cemetery Service on Memorial Day strive towards public awareness and remembrance of those who gave their lives for freedom—the supreme sacrifice for their country. Marchers carrying flags representing each service branch will participate and escort 8-10 riflemen who will serve as an honor guard attending to the flags. \nPrior to the parade\, the Veterans Memorial Committee will be sponsoring coffee and doughnuts at 7:20 a.m. in Bethel Park’s Municipal Council Chambers followed by a 7:30 a.m. ceremony at the Veteran’s Memorial located in front of the Municipal Building. Additional names will be added to the over 3\,500 already in place on the Veteran’s Memorial representing those from the American Revolution to today. \nFollowing the ceremony\, the Memorial Day Parade will begin at the Municipal Building and end at the Bethel Cemetery\, adjacent to Bethel Presbyterian Church on Bethel Church Road. A Memorial Day service will be held immediately after the parade. The public is encouraged to attend and participate in honoring our veterans. \nAnyone wishing to be in the parade can contact George Tracey at 412-600-6725. In case of rain\, the Memorial Service will be moved to Bethel Park Community Center.

They have also have been known to have squirt gun battles and hula-hoop fun for kids of all ages. More than just an event\, this collaboration of local folks was built with the intention of supporting and promoting small businesses. With a permit that allows for expansion\, this year Weather Permitting is growing and able to offer additional space for local farm stands and other vendors to promote and sell their goods on site.
