DESCRIPTION:Mini-Factory is a FREE interactive learning program at the Mattress Factory Museum. It’s designed specifically for children ages 3-6 years old and their parents and/or caregivers that uses contemporary installation art as the basis for enabling parents and educators to explore education ideas. \nYoung children will explore a variety of themes and installations at the Mattress Factory\, participate in story time with our partners form Reading is FUNdamental and the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh – Allegheny and work on a collaborative project in our Mini-Factory. The Mini-Factory is a mobile\, adaptable pop-up space that children can help to build and use to explore new ideas and concepts. Young artists will participate in projects that promote making and sharing. \n\nMini-Factory : COLOR @ 10am\nMini-Factory : MY FACTORY @ 10am\nMini-Factory : VIEWPOINT @ 11am\n\nMINI-FACTORY is FREE but you must RSVP to felice[at]mattress.org or at 412.231.3169 because space is limited. \nYou can sign up for workshops individually. Investigate dinosaur tracks and touch real fossil specimens\, then enjoy a private guided tour of Dinosaurs in Their Time. It is a family experience your dinosaur-loving child will never forget! \nSame-day admission is included in the ticket price. High chairs and boosters are not provided\, but you are welcome to bring your own. Dinosaur dress-up optional. Seating is limited\, so be sure to register early! \nWhat are the activities? \nThe hands-on activity is dinosaur tracking. There will be wet sand or clay to make imprints with plastic dinosaurs to find out whether the dinosaur’s tail drags\, a characteristic related to the animal’s anatomical structure.
