About Squaw Valley Park Playground
Squaw Valley Park Playground is located in O’Hara Township (325 Fox Chapel Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15238), about a 10 minute drive from the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium. The park includes tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, picnic pavilions and a couple of the coolest playgrounds we’ve ever seen! There’s plenty of parking and on-site bathrooms. It’s completely picturesque with a beautiful pond with a meandering path between the two playgrounds. When we visited the park was very clean and well kept.
Pirate Ship at Squaw Valley Park Playground
Newly installed in 2016, the Squaw Valley Park Playground is a state-of-the-art playground for the children of all ages. In fact, every person, regardless of age or ability, has the opportunity to have an absolute BLAST here!
As a parent of a small child I can always appreciate a playground that is completely fenced in. The astroturf ground makes for predictable footing and many of the playground features are fully accessible. Unique features included touch pads that play keyboard and drum sounds, plenty of moving/riding equipment and interactive elements throughout.
Purple Rainbow Playground
Nearby, older children can delight in colorful climbing equipment on the purple rainbow playground. Best suited for ages 5 – 12, two stories of steps, slides and swinging equipment will provide plenty of fun. There’s also swings, a merry-go-round and springy rides.
