Mars New Year Party | May 5 – 6

Did you know the New Years on Mars is not the same as here on Earth? The 2017 Mars New Year Party is celebrating year 34 and it’s kind of a big deal! There’s an entire Kid Zone full of activities, a Sci-Fi Costume Parade, fireworks and more! (more info)


Down on the Farm Day at Round Hill Park | May 13

Join the annual “Down on the Farm Day” celebration with special tours, activities and performances! Admission is FREE! Round Hill Park is home to amazing hiking trails, multiple playgrounds, a sprinkler park and a wonderful exhibit farm complete with rabbits, a cow, pigs, horses, a donkey, chickens, sheep and more! Remake Learning Days | May 15 – 26

Remake Learning Days kicks off on May 15 at PNC Park with a free, family-friendly event featuring dozens of fun and creative hands-on activities for kids of all ages. The fun continues for 12 days with 350+ free events/activities at various libraries, parks and schools around Pittsburgh. 2017 EQT Children’s Festival | May 18 – 21

There’s TONS of fun to be had for children of all ages at the 34th annual Children’s Festival in downtown Pittsburgh. Admission is free! Visit various booths/activities for everyone including FREE hands-on educational and cultural activities, outdoor pop-up performances, family-friendly gallery installations, public art, interactive art and more. 2017 Touch-a-Truck | May 20

The Junior League of Pittsburgh will host its tenth annual Touch-a-Truck fundraiser from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. May 20, 2017 in the Strip District. Kids have the opportunity to explore many vehicles at this popular event. They can get behind the wheel, honk the horns and meet the men and women who drive the trucks. (more info)


Children’s Museum NEW Exhibit: Hands-On Harley Davidson | May 20

There’s a NEW exhibit coming to the Children’s Museum on Pittsburgh and we’re super excited about this one! Hands-On Harley-Davidson opens May 20 and will feature role play with costumes/videos, Road King® inspired motorcycles with realistic throttle action, working turn signals and sound effects and more! 4th Annual North Hills Food Truck Festival | May 21

Bring your appetite to the largest Food Truck Festivals in the North Hills of Pittsburgh! There will be 25 trucks will be delivering plenty of food, fun and fashion PLUS music, games and baked goods in the St Teresa of Avila Church parking lot. (more info)

 


Memorial Day Weekend | May 27 – 29

Get your bathing suits ready because Memorial Day weekend also marks the opening of many public pools and water attractions including Sandcastle, Cranberry Township Waterpark and the Upper Saint Clair Community & Recreation Center. There’s also a FREE Family Fishing Day downtown Pittsburgh at the Point State Park on Sunday, May 28th. 

A special thank you to all those who died while serving in the country’s armed forces! If you’re looking to celebrate Memorial Day on Monday, May 29, there will be parades all over the city including Lawrenceville, Beaver,  Elizabeth Borough and South Park.  You can also check out a special presentation at during their Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Day Celebration.
