“Kid-friendly” and “winery” are generally not terms associated with each other. However, with live music, lush green yard and laid back environment, what started as a romantic date destination can also become a family favorite dining destination.

A few months ago, my husband and I were planning a date night. We were looking for something new and La Casa Narcisi came highly suggested. La Casa Narcisi is a family owned and operated winery 10 miles north of Pittsburgh in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania. It’s an all-in-one winery and restaurant with indoor, outdoor, patio and lawn seating. They have a wide selection of wines- all of which we’ve tried are absolutely amazing and are reasonably priced. Their menu includes rustic Italian cuisine and features light appetizers, salads, hearty pasta dishes, flatbreads, crafted pizzas, seafood, house-made soups and more.

For Adults

Multiple areas within La Casa Narcisi allow guests a variety of experiences. Sample wines (3 free samples/person) before we are seated for dinner in La Vite Ristorante. All the wines are amazing; my favorite is a toss up between Catawba and Black Raspberry. You can purchase wine by the glass or bottle. Your unfinished bottles are corked and available to take home whatever you (although we’ve never had this problem). While you’re there, do yourself a favor and try the spinach & artichoke dip and/or the grilled Portabella mushrooms.

For Families

What makes this winery so kid friendly? The atmosphere is fun and laid back. Most Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings La Casa Narcisi hosts live music (Summer and Winter schedules vary). We sat on the patio under the pergola next to the stage and listened to live music (a solo acoustic musician). I watched the kids doing cartwheels in the lawn in the distance- they looked like they were having a blast. There were families seated behind us with small children who were listening to the music, watching the man play his guitar. I also loved that the menu had kid friendly options such as pizza and flatbread.
